The Association's six regional branches offer seminars and programs covering a range of topics, including basic skills in proofreading, copy editing and substantive editing. They also deal with special-interest and advanced topics such as web editing, technical editing, photo editing and business development.

National conference
The annual national conference, which is hosted by a different branch every year, provides training and networking opportunities for members and the public alike.
The 2009 conference is: "Conference 2009—Celebrating the Past, Charting the Future". The 30th Anniversary Conference will take place from June 5 to 7 at the 89 Chestnut Conference Centre in Toronto.
